  • This will be a monthly writing exercise.
  • Maybe you need to come up with a few ideas and/or create a story, immediately, that you have no control over. What if you receive notes that you don’t understand but have been directed to add them into the script. Maybe you will be asked to incorporate different ideas into a script you are working on. It’s just another way for you to work on your writing and the key is – you WILL be working on your writing – which is an important part of this exercise. This challenge is FREE for everyone to participate in, any level of writing. Well, let’s give you some more information first. Ready to get those creative juices flowing? If you wrote the 1st story as a horror story, how would you change the wording to create the 2nd story as a romantic comedy? Or, if you started with a drama story, how would you change the wording to create a Sci Fi story? Hopefully, you get the point? How many different stories can you create? The 2nd creative part is this – whichever genre you used for your 1st story, now turn it completely around and create another story using a different genre. MEANING ~ you will need to use YOUR imagination and create an original idea from the words and sentences we provide to you.

Here is the 1st creative part of this exercise, WE – SWN, will provide YOU with the words to incorporate/add in, and, a sentence to use in each challenge. With this in mind, this challenge will be for you to imagine, create and write a short story between 5,000 to 7,500 words. Creativity is defined as the use of the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work the ability to CREATE. Which seems easy enough, except that you're supposed to pick an overall theme to tie the stories together BEFORE you know what all the prompts/themes are for the year. This challenge is for those who want to work on writing new ideas and who would like to maintain a continuous creativity flow with your writing. The challenge is to write a short (1k to 7.5k word) story every month, with a given prompt. So she came up with a 12 month writing challenge instead. It's about a woman who feels really unfulfilled and unhappy in herself, and it all falls apart for her when her best friend gets married and she's asked to be in the BP.Īnyway, I have a friend who has always wanted to do NaNo but gets overwhelmed just thinking about it. It is, rather appropriately, a wedding story. I am trying very hard to finish my book before the wedding though, hopefully in the next month or two so I can self-publish to Amazon and hopefully get a few cents more in the wedding fund. Neither of us has "won" yet, and I doubt we'll do NaNo 2014 seeing as we're getting married the day before it starts. Are there any Wrimos here? Any non-Wrimo writers or aspiring writers? I think I posted here about NaNo last year, but I can't remember.
